I’ve been writing ebooks and selling them online since 2004. When I read a lot of articles online that talk about selling ebooks, I often sit there shaking my head mumbling, “That’s not true,” or, “They didn’t tell the whole story about that.” One truth is, you can make money selling ebooks online – a lot of money. But in order to do so, there are some myths that should be dispelled so you know what you’re getting into.

Writing an ebook and self-publishing it is not hard – at all. That is, the actual writing is not hard. What’s difficult is finding the time to write and dedicating yourself to the process so you actually finish, instead of letting your project languish on your hard drive.

Pricing, when selling ebooks is relative, as with any other products. And if you want to make money selling ebooks, you have to price it right because no matter how fabulously it’s written, how good the information is and how unique it is, if it’s not priced right, you won’t make very many, or any, sales.

Writing ebooks for profit is fun – plain and simple – even though it is a lot of work. But, you can make the work you do on one ebook turn into two to four income streams for you pretty easily. This not only cuts down on the amount of writing you have to do to make money selling ebooks, it significantly ups your income.
