Writing an Article Faster

Do you want to learn how to write an article, but feel that the process is like pulling teeth? In reality, it’s easier than what you think. Let’s take a look at some simple things you can do to speed up your article writing process.

The first piece of advice I would give anyone wanting to learn how to write an article is, once you have you an idea of your topic, start your research. If you know about the topic, that’s great. If not, it may require you to do a tad bit of research on your end. Scan thru your materials and highlight the points that you want to relay to your readers. You could also look at other peoples content and find some great points and put them in your own words. Of course, we all know that plagiarism is a bad thing.

After you gathered your points break out your notepad or favorite word processing software and type away. Don’t stop, just type until you feel that you have enough material. It is important that you don’t edit to the end. This will help you knock out that article in no time.

The length of your article may vary depending on where you plan on submitting it to. If you’re using your own website, I’m sure you know what’s best for you.

In most cases with an article you’re going to tell your readers what your article is going to be about, talk about it, and summarize. While that doesn’t have to be the way you write articles, that’s the most commonly used format.

Another format you can select is the “How To” format. Write as if you’re writing to a friend. How would you explain those how-to steps to your friend? Thinking like that should also help get your point across.

Just remember that staring at a blank screen or blank sheet of paper will get you no where. One word at a time is better than no word at all.

Many people feel that they have to have the perfect Pulitzer Prize writing, but that is far from what you need to begin with. With practice you may be able to get your skills up to that level, but for now it’s best to get your article done and gain experience so the next time around your writing you should be able to finish with no problems.
